FARM TO FORK IN DJURGÅRDEN

When we want to get away from the city stress without actually going too far away, we head out to Rosendals Trädgård for a more relaxing—and less hectic—atmosphere.

We both live and work in the city, and now and then we feel the need to recharge. Rosendal’s Garden is an oasis located on the beautiful Djurgården island, and the easiest way to get there is catching the tram from Kungsträdgården or the ferry from Slussen. You could either bring your own picnic basket and roll out a big blanket in the orchard, or get something freshly made from café’s artisanal bakery. Everything is made from organic and biodynamic ingredients that most likely was harvested in their own garden.  They also have a farm shop and a plant shop if you’re looking to bring a bit of green to your home.

Since 1982, the Rosendal Garden Foundation runs the garden with the purpose to widen the public interest and knowledge of biodynamic gardening and landscaping. They hold courses and other activities in cooking and gardening, as well as harvest markets, guided tours, seminars, and art exhibitions.

Rosendal’s Garden is a driver of the farm to fork concept and the harvest of vegetables, herbs, flowers, and fruits are used in the garden café and wood fired bakery.Rosendals Trädgård
