The best burgers in Stockholm!
Hi, Fabian here.
Over the last couple of years, we’ve seen the burger hype grow stronger and stronger worldwide, and Stockholm is no exception. If you’re looking for a great burger while in Stockholm, there are plenty of places that won’t disappoint you. I always order a classic cheeseburger, because if you can’t make something as simple as that taste good then it doesn’t matter how many creative options you have the menu. This is my top 5 list of burgers in Stockholm.
Observatoriegatan 8, Stockholm
Flippin’ is the starter of the Swedish burger hype—and the hype is real. For me, they still hold the crown of the best burger in Stockholm. Maybe it’s because they haven’t expanded like their competitions have. They have however opened up other restaurants, but with different concepts, such as Lådan and Dogfood. Flippin’ have been running the show since its birth, and the king is not dead yet—this year they declared that they’re going to work with even better ingredients from local suppliers. For vegetarian they have a crispy bean-based option.
Franky’s famous burgers
Tegnérgatan 16, Stockholm
This little gem was first located in a small kiosk outside of Hard Rock Café but moved to Tegnérgatan in 2017. They only have a few seats, so get here early if you want to grab a spot. Unfortunately, they don’t have a meat-free option yet, but we can only hope it’s as tasty as the rest of the menu when they do. With their super tasty burgers (order Franky’s favorite, off the menu) at great prices, this is still one of the best-kept burger secrets in Stockholm.
Barrels – burger and beer
Stora Nygatan 20 – Smålandsgatan 22 – Bysistorget
They have several different tasty craft burgers on the menu, including a veggie option that is really good. The concept is nicely composed and well executed all the way throughout the experience, including the interior. If you’re looking for a place to eat and have a few beers with your friends, then you should definitely check out Barrels. Don’t forget to check out their monthly burger.
Hailing from Luleå, Bastards Burgers is the king of the north when it comes to burgers. They conquered Norrland before making their way down to Stockholm, and the success is withstanding. The reviews have been great from the start, and even though I wasn’t impressed the first time I visited their joint in Vasastan, I’m glad to call myself a Bastard now. A plus is their selection of vegetarian or vegan options.
Funky Chicken food truck
If you happen to be in the same area as Funky Chicken’s food truck, you better hurry up and get in line before they sell out. Their simple and delicious burgers with smashed patties are almost too good to be true, so if you get there in time you better get yourself a triple cheeseburger. You won’t regret it. You’re most likely to find them in Nacka Strand or at Hornstull’s Market on the weekends.
