Grandpa Scandinavian life store

A shop for almost everything

Grandpa is not just a hip fashion store. Nor is it a bookstore or houseware shop. Well, they do sell all these things, but they’ve managed to provide a different kind of shopping by giving you the chance to go home with a piece of the Scandinavian life in a shopping bag.

A few weekends ago, we were wandering around in the hipster neighborhood of SoFo—ridiculous acronym for South of Folkungagatan— and ended up doing some shopping in a store that’s named after your grandpa (yeah, it’s called Grandpa). It’s super hipster and somewhat the grownup version of Urban Outfitters, selling high-quality products that have a purpose and that you’ll actually use.

So when you’ve stumbled into this boutique, you’ll find a nice range of fashion for both men and women. Even though everything isn’t from Scandinavian designers, you can be sure to find the latest trends that rule the north of Europe. The staff is super helpful and knowledgeable so don’t hesitate to ask them for help if you’re looking for a certain something. When you’re done browsing through the racks, you should check out the selection of homewares, posters, and all the other cool stuff they have to offer.

The brand is never more important than the productgrandpastore.com

Stockholm, Gothenburg & Malmö

This shop on Södermannagatan was their first store when it opened in 2003, and since then they’ve expanded to five locations spread out in Stockholm, Gothenburg (our hometown!), and Malmö.

Sneakersnstuff sneakers and streetwear

Nike or adidas, Asics or New Balance? Doesn’t matter. Sneakersnstuff got you covered.

If you’re a true sneakerhead you already know about Sneakersnstuff. If not, we’ve got some great news if you’re planning a trip to Stockholm. This is one of the most exciting sneaker shops in the world and a great place to start your shoe collection.

We have too many shoe boxes in the hallway of our apartment. Most of them contain Fabian’s selection of adidas NMD_, but Amanda has a few pairs as well. Even though we don’t have any more space (according to Amanda), we like to visit Sneakersnstuff to browse through the latest drops from the big sneaker and streetwear brands.

Sneakersnstuffis is the Mecca for sneakerheads in Sweden. They first opened in 1999 and has also opened stores in Berlin, London and Paris. Over the years, they’ve been given the opportunity to collaborate with big brands like adidas, Converse, New Balance, Puma, Asics, Reebok, and Vans, to design exclusive sneakers that sell out in the blink of an eye. Bring your sleeping bag a couple of days before their next shoe drop, or accept that you will have to pay up once they hit eBay.

Award-winning store

In 2009 Sneakersnstuff won a grand slam at Modegalan, an annual fashion award show hosted and curated by Habit, the largest magazine for the fashion biz in Scandinavia. They also received the Online Retailer of the Year Award, the Young Fashion Store of the Year Award  and the most desirable award of them all—the Fashion Store of the Year.

“If any store was going to be crowned king of collabs, the title would hands down go to Swedish duo Erik and Peter at Sneakersnstuff.”Sneaker Freaker Magazine

Vi brukar alltid titta in när vi är i det här området av Södermalm, trots att Amanda tycker att Fabian redan har alldeles för många lådor med skor i hallen.
